Was feeling rather lazy and was reluctant to wake up early yesterday but there are several things waiting for me to do. First, I had to go to the printers to send in the first issue of 2011 Inkslingers to be printed. 800 copies, 12 pages, coming out on 28 March, next Monday - take note and a copy.
After finalizing everything with the printers then its off to Shangri-La hotel for an event job. Basically what I do is as an event crew; make sure things are in their right place, moving things here and there, and do what the superior asked. Its not my first time doing this event so I know how things goes but this time around, me and my friend, Casper, sourced five ushers so I have to alias with them as well and be some what responsible to let them know what to do.
Several of the girls are all right, especially Cynthia - she is cute! Finally got to meet her in person after seeing her profile she sent in. Things are going all right except that my back is really sore from all the standing and walking around. When I’m not needed to do anything, I quietly slip to the area where everyone was waiting to head into the ballroom, took a glass of beer and slip to the back. As I was trying to relax myself and enjoying my second glass, one of the ushers girl came and told me she lost her iphone 4. I had a little panic because I don’t really know what to do then.
I asked her to checked her bag again. Its not there. I realize the room had a cctv so I went out and speak with the security to check for any suspicious activities. At that moment, the girl was in a panic and about to be brought to tears. So I let her know I will try to do everything I can to get her phone back but all we could do then was to just wait for the security to review the cctv tapes. So I sat with her at the back to keep her company and try my best to console her with pointless small talk. After about 30 minutes, the security came back to me and told us he got the phone back. Apparently the person who took the phone return it back to the security - out of fear, probably, from all the commotion the lost phone caused. After seeing her phone, the girl was so happy and instantly there is a smile to her face. I guess that is good news does to people. Her happiness was really genuine.
After the incident, the work and the long hours, me and my colleagues went out to had our first meal of the night. Frankly I was really hungry but I was so tired, I lost my appetite to eat. I drove home listening to MCR really loud even when I had a throbbing headache, but MCR is MCR - best enjoyed loud and proud.
